For SSTP connections you are prompted once again to connect even if password supplied in the config, but not if connection type altered to PPTP? SOLVED! By manually editing the rasphone.pbk file the SSTP entries in the file should have the following property disabled (=0) PreviewUserPw=0

Hello - I install that right now so without a username(optional) and a passwd(optional). I only have a IP and a pre-shared key. On the other side I've a ipsec on a Monowall and use the Phase1 3DES and MD5 with 768bit encryption. A pre-shared key '123456' is in the Monowall for the first test. This connection is not to need secure it is only for a satellitebox behind my Monowall. So I can use it in a Hotel if I'm on Vacation and stream the Video. But at the 1st Authentication it crashed and make a Error: the L2TP connection try was interrupted in case of a problem in the security negotiation. I also install a PPTP (non secure) tunnel and this is working with no problems but only the ipsec is not working. And the PPTP is not working a the Hotel where I've been - so what is to do? Please what can I do to fix this problem? Thank you weakbit

the remote connection was not made because the vpn tunnels failed. The Vpn server might be unreachable. If this connection is attempting to use be AN L2TP/IPsec tunnelm the security parameters required for IPsec negotiation might not be configured properly.

For some reason everything works fine with the cli interface I'm using. But when I try to use network manager GUI and import an .ovpn config file, it doesn't seem to display the right things. Can go into more depth if needed Edit: Things: Run Protonvpn, Run UFW, but will focus on the ProtonVPN part. Problems: network manager GUI part not working. Seems to always fall back to what i have on the CLI, even when i disable pvpn-cli Ufw rules ( wants ipv6 enabled ) Main solution: Run Protonvpn from network manager GUI and from CLI without the two conflicting ***( Can ignore the UFW and ipv6 part for YT question )*** - -Run with No ipv6 leaks- Run Protonvpn from network manager GUI with imported config file. - -run Protonvpn with ufw enabled- UFW creates conflicts because ufw usually wants ipv6 enabled. .ovpn files get written without showing what directory they're written to. i.e. locate .ovpn returns nothing when i have all the proton .ovpn in downloads folder. What we are trying to do: Run Protonvpn on both CLI and GUI ( not at the same time ) Get the GUI to show that it is working ( works fine on cli ) (HOME~./pvpn-cli/) Run Protonvpn from network manager GUI Explanation: The two seem to cancel each other out. Connection 1 = pvpncli Connection 2 = proton on network manager GUI Normally, when you run another connection, connection 1 would terminate, and connection 2 would start. ( When dealing with starting simple VPNs ) What ends up happening here, is when i run connection 2 ( GUI ). The GUI will say it's connected. But netstat output and Protonvpn s output only return stats from connection 1 (CLI) And the cli will show that connection 1 is being terminated But when I print protonvpn s it only shows the output from connection 1, when it should be showing Connection 2, the most recently clicked connection. Tl;Dr netstat and Protonvpn s output only show output from the CLI connection, even though the CLI connection(1) is terminated and the GUI connection(2) as being started. Checking by running protonvpn s Also, where in the heck does Ubuntu save .ovpn files? After they've been initialized or used ( in either CLI or GUI ) It just doesn't show the output from my GUI connection, but falls back to showing my previous CLI connection even after its been terminated I tried purge configuration from the protonVPN CLI And the only info I got when re initializing Protonvpn was "writing configuration to disk" It doesn't save the .ovpn files in a config file somewhere? Or are there any particular config files I should be looking at when it comes to Ubuntu and .ovpn files & as well as openvpn?

Hi thanks for your video. I got a wired problem. It worked well but suddenly the wired connection is out and ubuntu doesnt seem to be able to reconnect. I got this message in the network manager : connection in progress -1000 Mb/s. And it never connect. Ubuntu is aware there is a wire plug in but doesnt work. Maybe do you have a tip ?
